About

Paddy Stewart

Paddy Stewart is an Edmonton-based REALTOR®, researcher, writer, and community advocate with more than 20 years of experience in real estate and over 1,000 transactions negotiated throughout Alberta. His expertise includes new home construction, renovations, investment properties, land assembly, and development.

Paddy currently serves as a Trustee of the St. Albert Arts and Heritage Foundation and is actively involved in heritage preservation, community development, and Indigenous education.

A Métis researcher and writer, Paddy has published historical works through the Gabriel Dumont Institute of Native Studies and Applied Research. His research focuses on Métis history, the Red River Settlement, the fur trade, Indigenous political leadership, genealogy, and the development of Western Canada. His work includes archival research, historical mapping, and the documentation of Métis and Indigenous history.

Paddy's family has deep roots in the history of the Canadian Northwest, with documented connections to the Red River Settlement, the founding of Manitoba, Treaty 4, and prominent Métis and Indigenous leaders. Through research, writing, and public education, he works to preserve and share these stories for future generations.

An avid collector, researcher, and steward of Métis and Hudson’s Bay Company-era artifacts, Paddy has worked to identify, document, and repatriate historically significant pieces back to Canada. His collection includes trade silver, beadwork, textiles, and other culturally significant artifacts. His long-term goal is to see these materials preserved within Métis institutions and made accessible to future generations.

Paddy previously sought public office as a candidate for the Alberta Legislature and for Edmonton City Council in Ward O-Day’min. He remains active in public affairs, heritage education, economic development, and Métis community initiatives.

Whether negotiating complex real estate transactions, researching Métis history, preserving culturally significant artifacts, or serving his community, Paddy brings the same commitment to stewardship, leadership, and long-term thinking. His career in real estate has provided him with extensive experience in negotiation, governance, finance, and project management skills he continues to apply in community service
